Gene Cherng joined our firm in 2010 and practices in the areas of intellectual property and business litigation.
While at Washington University, Saint Louis School of Law, Mr. Cherng was selected as a consultant for the school’s IP and Business Formation Clinic. There, he advised local startups and nonprofits on their intellectual property rights in patents, copyright, and trade secrets, in the U.S. and abroad.
Mr. Cherng also interned at Genesis Law Firm (建元律师事务所), a Chinese law firm in Beijing, where he was involved in the banking, corporate law, securities, and mineral law practices.
Prior to law school, Mr. Cherng worked as a bioanalyst at Chiron Corporation, where he served on a team that generated clinical reports as part of the FDA regulatory approval process for potential drugs and vaccines.
Born in Taiwan, Mr. Cherng is fluent in Mandarin and conversational in Taiwanese. He enjoys tennis, music, and Chinese martial-chivalric novels.
